Work resumes on Klemme Wastewater Treatment Project

KLEMME – Work on the Wastewater Treatment Facility Project at Klemme has resumed, but high water conditions continue to not cooperate with the contractor’s efforts, according to Tim Moreau, project engineer for Veentra & Kimm.

Moreau recently updated the Klemme City Council on the project’s status.

The contractor is getting ready to install the UV disinfection equipment into the concrete structure and is working on the electrical aspects of the UV system.

“They still need to complete the installation of the remaining portions of the effluent discharge line, but high waters from the river are impeding progress on this effort, “ he said in an email to The Leader

The contractor for the project, Cole Excavating, had a dewatering company come back to see what they could do in a localized area to complete this portion of the project.

Weather permitting, the membrane liner is scheduled for installation the week of May 20. They also want to start seeding in areas where the grading has been completed, but conditions are too wet.
