West Hancock volleyball improves team chemistry throughout season

West Hancock volleyball had its work cut out in 2018.

Coming off of a three-win season, the team once again had to go through coaching changes.

This year the team was headed up by Amber Kluver-Heimer and Kassondra Robinson as co-coaches.

Both women were first year head coaches but Kluver-Heimer was an assistant coach with the team for several years.

The team at least had a sense of familiarity starting out the year.

The girls showed promise in the first weeks of the season nabbing a 3-1 (25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17) victory over Eagle Grove on the road.

The Eagles would net a handful more wins around the midway point of the season beating Belmond-Klemme 3-1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-13) in a road conference game.

The team would beat four more teams in tournaments; West Bend-Mallard, Eagle Grove, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura and Estherville Lincoln Central.
