West Hancock School Board appoints new board member for District 4

            It’s been a busy month for the West Hancock School Board.

            The board met for its regular meeting on July 15 in Britt and then met on Wednesday in a special meeting

            The board of directors approved the resignation of Todd Hammer from the board.

            Hammer no longer lives in the district that he represents, having moved out of that of that area recently.

            The special meeting held on Wednesday was to fill that vacancy.

            The board voted to appoint Jay Hiscocks to fill in for the remaining term of District 4.

            At the regular meeting, the school board approved its’ district-wide goals for the 2019-2020 school year.

            The board also identified their top legislative priorities as mental health, staff reduction, school funding policy and special levy funds.
