West Hancock didn’t win both games, but they ended the night with their heads up.

West Hancock and rival Garner-Hayfield-Ventura played in a doubleheader as part of a makeup date.

The two teams split the day-long series.

GHV took the first game with a 14-11 win, West Hancock responded with a 16-4 beating.

In game one, the Eagles had to claw back into the game after going down 10-0 after two innings.

With five runs in both the fourth and sixth inning, the boys found themselves tied at 11 with GHV.

The defense couldn’t hold out against the strong Cardinal bats any longer in the game as they let up another three runs in the final inning.

Gavin Becker led the team with a two-hit performance, claiming an RBI in the process.

Becker had a field day as a baserunner, stealing five bases.

Tate Hagen followed up with three steals of his own; he also batted-in two runs for the Eagles.
