West Hancock Cross Country continues to build program

West Hancock Cross Country finishes its third year of competition and even though the program isn’t quite up to competitive levels yet, it made big strides in building up and establishing the program as part of Eagles sports.

This year the boys and the girls had enough numbers to produce a varsity team.

Throughout the year, coach Holly Lang watched as each runner improved greatly on their times.

Most of the Eagle runners improved several minutes on their personal bests.

The runners started showing their enthusiasm for the team at the end of the season already thinking about what they’ll need to do next season to improve and compete.

Talks about running more hills and how to prepare for tough courses drifted between each Eagle.

“It’s just really good to see them run as a team,” Lang said. “There was a lot more enthusiasm at that last meet.”

She felt good hearing her team cheer each other on and encourage each other to get better.
