West Hancock Boys end year in an ugly game

            Ugly.

            That’s about the only way to describe West Hancock’s 38-76 loss to Bishop Garrigan at their gym in Algona on Feb. 19 for Class 1A District play.

            It wasn’t the way the Eagles played, despite being outmatched by the size of the Golden Bears.

            It was the tone of the game that really left a blemish on the night.

            As the game wore on, the Eagles’ frustrations were visible.

            There was little West Hancock could do in the face of numerous factors.

            The team played solid defense outside of allowing Bishop Garrigan to make 27 attempts at the free throw line.
