St. Paul Lutheran celebrates 125 years

GARNER - St. Paul Lutheran Church, 810 State St., Garner, will be celebrating their 125th Anniversary on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

The celebration will begin with a “Meet & Greet” coffee and fellowship at 9 a.m. The Worship and Communion Service at 10 a.m. will feature Rev. Dr. James Lamb as guest speaker. Dr. Lamb served as pastor June 27, 1982 until April 1996, when he accepted the position to serve as Executive Director of Lutherans For Life. He served as Director until his retirement in 2016. Currently, he is a Life Advocate for Lutheran Family Service. Dr. Lamb and his wife Roxanne live in Marshalltown, Iowa.

 St. Paul’s present pastor, Rev. Scott Kozisek, assisted by Rev. Clyde Kieschnick, Rev. Mark Hansen, Rev. Dale Glawatz, and Rev. Henry Friedrich will participate in this “125 Years of Grace” worship service. The service will be broadcast live on St. Paul Lutheran Facebook Page as well as the church website: www.stpaulgarner.org.

 A catered meal will follow the Quasquicentennial Service . Reservations for the “free will” donation meal, may be made by calling the church office, 641-923-2261 or email stpauloffice@comm1net.net.The public is cordially invited to attend the 9 a.m. coffee, 10 a.m. worship service and the catered meal.
