Lansing accepts position at Nashville, N.C.

Randy Lansing

GARNER – Randy Lansing, who has served as Garner city administrator since December 2011, will be the new town manager for Nashville, North Carolina, beginning in June.

Lansing’s final day at Garner is May 31.

Nashville, population 5,500, is located in the northeast quarter of North Carolina. The city is the county seat of Nash County (population 94,370).

“A very appealing size to me,” said Lansing in an interview with The Leader. “I’ve always been partial to small towns.”

Like Garner, economic development and the continued growth of their community are priorities at Nashville.

The move also brings Lansing and his wife, LuAnne, closer to their daughter, Jamie, who lives in the Raleigh/Durham area.

During his tenure at Garner, Lansing and the council saw completion or continuation of several projects including Cottonwood Drive Storm sewer project, expansion of Touch Stone Industrial Park, and continuation of the sidewalk repair/construction program.
