Heitland and Frank earn All-Conference honors

For GHV, both ends of the age spectrum were represented on the TIC West Division all-conference lists. Senior Jillian Heitland finished her career as a Cardinal by earning Second Team all-conference honors while freshman Jayden Frank began her career as a selection to the Honorable Mention list.

Cardinal coach Matt Erpelding noted that Heitland led the Cardinals in several statistical categories while finishing the league schedule as the TIC’s sixth-ranked scorer. “Jillian finished her high school career with a solid season which earned her as a second team selection in a conference with numerous very talented basketball players. She led our team in scoring, steals, and free throw percentage while finishing third in assists. We knew we would have to rely on her to provide a fair share of our offensive output and she came through for us. It took us awhile to find the right offensive system to suit this team but once we did and everyone got comfortable in their roles Jillian's efficiency increased dramatically."

Erpelding sees great potential in Frank who will return as a sophomore with considerable experience under her belt. “Jayden had a real solid freshman year. Coming into the season I knew one of her strengths was shooting from beyond the arc and that we would need her to come through to help take the scoring pressure off of Jillian. She did her part as she led the team in three-point field goal percentage and was second in scoring, steals, free throw percentage and rebounds. I think it took her awhile to adjust to the increased level of play at the high school level but once she did she really started playing well."
