For the sixth consecutive year the GHV girls have earned a conference golf championship. The Cardinals traveled to North Union on Monday where they successfully defended their title against the eight other TIC schools.

Cardinal coach Todd Greiman was pleasantly surprised by the efforts of the GHV girls. “For the last couple of years I expected us to finish at the top but I didn’t think we had the ability to pull it off again this season. I know the girls enjoyed proving me wrong.”

GHV finished the 18-hole event with a team total of 407. Bishop Garrigan was a distant second at 342 followed by West Hancock (463), Lake Mills (464) and North Union (465). Greiman noted that the absence of Garrigan’s top player elevated their team total by a few strokes but realistically would not have made a difference in the final standings.
