GHV Girls Soccer scores high and low in opening week

            The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Girls soccer club started a new season scoring 10 goals.

            The next game they’d be shut out.

            The team hosted Hampton-Dumont/CAL on April 1, where they put a 10-0 beating to the Bulldogs.

            Friday, the team visited Clear Lake where they’d lose 0-2.

            Against Hampton-Dumont/CAL, the shooting opportunities were abundant.

            The Cardinals shot 47 times in the game; a staggering 31 shots were put on goal.

            Chloe Johnson contributed 25 of those shots, 18 going on goal.

            She scored five goals to lead the team.

            Alison Johnson followed behind with four goals of her own.

            Jayden Frank had a goal as well.

            Goalie Mykenzie Darg made four saves in the game; Liz Richardson had two saves of her own.
