GHV girls golf falls behind of Bishop Garrigan


Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls golf traveled to the Spring Valley Course in Livermore on April 8.

            The Cardinals faced off against Bishop Garrigan and North Iowa on the only meet of the week, they’re second meet on Friday in Eagle Grove was postponed due to weather.

            The team scored 253, trailing well behind the Golden Bears who led with 194 strokes.

            North Iowa was unable to post a total team score.

            Carlee Frayne led the team with a stroke count of 47.

            The rest of the team averaged around 69 in their scores.

            “Spring Valley always seems to be a challenging course for the girls,” coach Todd Greiman said. “Today’s windy conditions made matters worse.”

            Greiman said the score was a reflection of the team not playing up to their abilities.

            The team continues to show signs of improvement despite the off day.
