A rescheduled game meant the Cardinals girls basketball team didn’t open the season until their home game on Nov. 27.

Garner-Hayfield-Ventura would host North Iowa and find themselves winning by a solid score of 62-16.

14 different players scored in the game with Maddie Williams leading the team with 10 points.

Coach Matt Frank though it was a great first game for the Cards, though he wished the Bison weren’t missing one of their starters due to injury.

Friday, GHV traveled to Forest City and experienced frustration as they were held to 25 points losing out the Indian’s 44.

The team turned over the ball 21 times as they failed to gain any real offense against the Indians.

“[We] couldn’t get shots in rhythms, in spots,” Frank said. “We were on our heels all night long.”
