Garner-Hayfield-Ventura football bounced back from their homecoming loss on Friday.

The Cardinals traveled to Estherville to face Estherville Lincoln Central.

The Cards took control of the game and posted a score of 34-6 for the win.

“I think we played better up front, both offensively and defensively,” coach Darrell Schumacher said.

Offensively, the team boasted two runners rushing over 150 yards.

Jared Shaw led the team with 194 yards and Isaac Knutson ran for 178 yards.

Shaw accounted for three touchdowns on the ground.

Knutson had one touchdown on the ground as well as catching one from quarterback Landon Dalbeck from 25 yards out.

Dalbeck had three pass completions for 48 yards, including one for a critical first down for the Cardinals.

The production on offense was built off of the strength of its offensive line play.
