GHV establishes hall of fame for alumni and community

Garner-Hayfield-Ventura school district has established the GHV Hall of Fame.

The school looks to create a lasting tribute to former students and community members who’s brought honor to themselves, the school and their communities.

Those to be recognized have made accomplishments in extra and co-curricular activities, left a lasting impression with contributions to GHV activities or have distinguished themselves post-graduation.

Accomplishments during the days of Garner, Hayfield, Garner-Hayfield and Ventura are all eligible for consideration.

            Posthumous nominations are accepted

“One of our initiatives this year was to continue to build alumni relations and with that in mind, we felt it was time to honor our past alumni that had great contributions to our school and have been successful in life,” GHV Athletic Director Matt Graham said.

GHV will hold a Hall of Fame Banquet on Thursday of Homecoming week and proceed with the induction ceremony after a meal.

Nominations for Teams/Groups and Individuals categories must wait 10 years before being considered for induction; Distinguished Graduates nominees must wait 10 years after graduating to be considered.
