Garner-Hayfield-Ventura baseball went up and down in the final week of the regular season.

They went 1-1 in Britt on July 2 against West Hancock and defeated Eagle Grove in big fashion on Wednesday in Eagle Grove.

The Hancock County rivals went at each other in a doubleheader due to rain delay from the first scheduled game.

GHV claimed the first win of the day with a 14-11 win, things didn’t turn around as well for the Cardinals as they were dropped with a 4-16 loss.

            They smashed Eagle Grove 18-0.

Landon Dalbeck was on full display in game one against the Eagles, smacking four hits, batting-in two runs and a stolen base.

GHV struck West Hancock in the mouth early to start the game, scoring eight runs.

They kept up the scoring just enough to stave off a two five-run innings from West Hancock.
