Farmland leasing meeting set for August 9 in Garner

 

GARNER - Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Hancock County is hosting a farmland leasing meeting on August 9, at 9:00 A.M. to address questions that land owners, tenants, or other interested individuals have about farmland leasing.

The meeting will be held at the Hancock County Extension Office located at 327 W 8th St. in Garner. The meeting is approximately 2 ½ hours in length. Similar meetings are being held across Iowa. Attendees will gain an understanding of current cash rental rate surveys and factors driving next year’s rents such as market trends, tariffs and the new Farm Bill. They will also learn about factors affecting land values and the results of farmland value surveys. The program will also include information on the new Farm Bill updates, the impact of tariffs and the outlook for next year. A 100-page workbook will be included with registration that includes land leasing information such as surveys, sample written lease agreement and termination forms, and many other publications. 

Registration is $20 per individual or $30 per couple. An additional $5 fee will be added if registering less than two calendar days before the workshop. Pre-register by calling the Hancock County Extension and Outreach office at 641-923-2856.
