Eagles move five on to district wrestling

            West Hancock wrestling coming off of a disappointing conference tournament, West Hancock wrestling hosted 1A sectionals on Saturday.

            Five Eagle wrestlers made it through to the next step, one step away from the State tournament.

            170-pounder Tate Hagen and heavyweight Chandler Redenius outright won the tournament.

            Hagen defeated Zach Wagner of Lake Mills in a convincing 8-3 decision.

            Redenius pinned Brandon Acuna of Belmond-Klemme, the second pin of the day.

            Tanner Hagen at 220, Cole Kelly at 182 and Bennett Bruns at 152 finished in second place.

            Hagen and Bruns had to fight for their spot at second place in a wrestle back.

            Hagen had fallen to Teddy Behrens of Central Springs in the finals and ended up having to wrestle Saint Ansgar’s Sage Hulshizer.
