Eagles girls track takes third at TIC West meet

       The West Hancock girls track and field team had an impressive showing at home and just down the road.

            They would take second place in Britt on Apr. 29 with a 122 team points and place third in the Top of Iowa Conference West meet on Thursday in Garner with 77 team points.

            At home, the Eagles placed first in six events.

            Emily Ryerson ran a 16.71 in the 100-meter hurdle for the top spot.

            In the 1500-meter, Jennifer Alonso-Lopez ran a 5:51.30.

            Kennedy Kelly took first in the 400-meter with a 1:12.34.

            Amanda Chizek continued her dominance at the shot put, throwing a 38-8.

            In the 4x400-meter relay, Rachel Leerar, Ryerson, Shae Smith and Marissa Eekhoff beat out the competition in 4:34.62.
