Council reviews Hejlik’s 3rd preliminary plat

GARNER – The July 23 meeting of the Garner City Council included a review of a preliminary plat for the future Hejlik’s 3 Subdivision.

According to Drew Sweers, project engineer, construction on the subdivision can’t start any sooner than September to allow for completion of the Allen Ave. Drainage Way Project.

The council approved the release of the final $12,000 to McKinness Excavating & Grading in connection to the Cottonwood Drive Storm Sewer Improvement Project.

Sweers said the amount was retained for some final punch list items connected to the project, which are being resolved.

Police Chief Tim Dodge reported plans to purchase a new vehicle for the department. Dodge presented quotes on SUV’s from Pritchard Motors and Ollenburg Motors, as well as from a state website.

The department plans to trade in a 2012 Chevy Tahoe.

The council postponed action until they had an opportunity to review the bids and specifications on the vehicles.
