Chuck Long to attend Health & Wellness Expo

GARNER – A new year is a time for new beginnings. Living a healthy lifestyle usually among the most popular resolutions people make at this time of year.

The Garner Chamber of Commerce, Britt Chamber of Commerce, and many businesses and health care providers have joined forces with Live Healthy Iowa to help you reach your wellness goals in 2018.

A Hancock County Health and Wellness Expo will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 1-4 p.m. at the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High School gymnasium. Learn about what Hancock County has to offer and about Live Healthy Iowa activities and challenges.

Former Iowa Hawkeye football stand-out Chuck Long will be the special guest at the Expo. Long is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.

Long became CEO of the Iowa Sports Foundation in 2014. He has taken a hands-on approach promoting Live Healthy Iowa.

The Live Healthy Iowa Ten-week Wellness Challenge is Jan. 22-March 30, 2018. Over the course of 10 weeks, teams (2-10 people) track activity minutes and/or weight loss through the Live Healthy Iowa website.

This challenge provides Iowans an opportunity to improve their health while engaging in fun, friendly competition. More about the challenge is on the Live Healthy Iowa website: www.livehealthyiowa.org.

"Our main focus is to educate the public and provide them with resources of what all Hancock County and our surrounding area has to offer,” said Amber Jenniges, Garner Chamber Commerce Director. “We are so fortunate to have multiple clinics in all different aspects of Health and Wellness needs.
