Cards wrap up TIC volleyball season

            With post-season volleyball action just around the corner, GHV completed their TIC schedule last week with a home match against North Union. The Cards then traveled to Rockford on Thursday for a non-conference match against the Warriors.

            North Union finished third in the TIC behind two strong volleyball programs and GHV played the Warriors very tough in Tuesday’s matchup. North Union avoided an upset in the first set with a 25 – 23 decision but GHV turned the tables in game two for a 25 – 23 victory. The Warriors gained momentum with a 25 – 15 win in the third set and then held off GHV in game four, ending the match with a 25 – 22 decision.

            Bretta Carolus led GHV with nine kills, 17 digs and five ace serves followed by Jacki Van Oort with seven kills, 15 digs and two ace serves. Morgan Ryerson added five kills and three digs while Bailee Frayne recorded 21 assists and 11 digs. Ashley Markla chipped in 10 digs and two ace serves.
