Cards land seven on TIC baseball rosters

            After finishing as TIC West Division runners-up, the GHV baseball team saw seven players earn post-season league honors. GHV landed three players on the conference first-team roster, three more on the second team along with an honorable mention player.

            Earning first team honors for the Cardinals were juniors Ryan Meyers, Nick Joynt and Dane Whipple. Joynt finished conference play as GHV’s top hitter. The Cardinal catcher hit .400 on the year with 10 RBI’s, two home runs and 12 total hits. Meyers finished conference play with a record of 5 – 1 on the Cardinal mound while fanning 60 opposing batters. Whipple was GHV’s second-ranked hitter, finishing league play with a .362 batting average that included 17 hits and nine RBI’s and a home run.

            Earning second team honors were Ryley Kozisek, Colton Schroeder and Landon Dalbeck. Dalbeck, the lone freshman on any of the all-conference rosters, hit .348 on the season with 16 hits and 11 RBI’s. Kozisek, GHV’s only senior in the starting lineup, hit .282 during the league season with 11 hits and seven RBI’s. Schroeder, a junior infielder/pitcher finished with eight hits and eight RBI’s while picking up two conference pitching wins.

            Cardinal junior Anthony Sherwood was GHV’s honorable mention player. Sherwood hit .279 with a dozen hits including a homer and six RBI’s.
