The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls golf team only had one early week meet at home, hosting Lake Mills and Bishop Garrigan on Apr. 29.

The Cardinals wasn’t able to beat the two teams, but kept in close with Lake Mills on the Garner Golf Course.

Bishop Garrigan won the meet with a stroke count of 204; Lake Mills edged out GHV 216-219.

This was the Cardinals second best score of the season.

Coach Todd Greiman said he was pleased to see continued consistency from the girls, he hopes to see two more girls put up scores under the 50s.

“The girls are capable and just need to reduce the occasional bad shot that leads to big numbers,” Greiman said. “The girls are all showing improvement and at this stage of the season we’re just trying to get better on a regular basis.”
