Britt City Council decide on pricing for Burgardt Commercial lots

To ring in the New Year, Britt City Council swore in Chad Luecht to the seat formerly held by Mike Ostercamp.

The council sat through an extended meeting, carrying out several items of business.

During the monthly reports from department heads, Public Works Director Vance Hagen reported that the construction work for the Burgardt Commercial Park is finished until Spring.

Hagen reports that the pipes were installed correctly, no pipes were damaged during instillation.

“All the sewer lines have been tested with a mandrel,” Hagen said. “They take [an eight-inch] pipe, and they take a tool that’s exactly 7 3/4, 7 and 7/8 inches and they pull that from one mandrel to the other to make sure your pipe is bending correctly.”

Later in the evening, the council set price ranges for the lots at the commercial park. The city has already received interest for the lots.

The city isn’t able to sell lots until it receives a final plat from Drew Sweers of V&K and then have the plat dedicated with city attorney of Earl Hill.

The City of Britt said it wants to stay competitive with Garner’s Touchstone Energy Park.
